Nancy's Block Cabernet Franc 2016

Winemaker’s Note

This special block of Cabernet Franc is dedicated to Norma-Jane’s late sister, Nancy. Our Nancy’s Block Cabernet Franc was hand picked and sorted before being fermented with the inclusion of 100% whole clusters of Cabernet Franc. The inclusion of whole clusters adds a subtle florality and distinctly rustic character. Barrel aging took place in 225L French oak barrels about 10% of which were new.

Tasting Note

This wine is a pale purple-ruby colour. The warm season of 2016 has marked this wine with aromas of purple plums, violets and herbes de provence. It has a silky, softer palate and is a smooth wine. It has a long fruit forward finish.

Food Pairing

We would recommend this wine be paired with a hot, comfortable beef stew. It would also be nice with a semi-soft washed rind cheese like Oka.
